Flock – the Social Media Web Browser

There is a new social media web browser called Flock that is intended to help you integrate and manage the vast array of social media applications and tools from one browser. I have yet to download Flock, but it seems like a great idea on the surface. Walt Mossberg at the Wall Street Journal provides this excellent critique detailing the benefits and drawbacks of the new browser.

I like the idea of having a browser that would help condense access of all my tools, updates, feeds, etc. into one easy location. However, as Walt notes, I do have initial concerns about the horizontal media bar and overall nature of how a browser like this may become overwhelming and flat out distracting. I tend to prefer a clean, simple approach but it may be worth giving it a whirl this weekend to try it out.

If you happen to check it out, please share your thoughts!

Cheers,
Scott
